When will the magic return?

I’ve got a trip booked in Jan/Feb (two adults) but I’ve been reading so much about staff shortages, bad customer service, dirty parks etc. I’m now considering canceling. I’m worried that it will be really disappointing compared to our previous trip as well as being way more expensive now. Does anyone think their staffing issues will have improved by next year? And if we delay until 2023, will things really have improved or is it never going to be the same? Just curious what others think here!

In the words of Disney…. You are the magic.

I tend to find many negative reviews are often exaggerated (think Trip Advisor).

If you go looking for things to be negative then you will find them anywhere, Disney or otherwise.

I think by Spring next year things will look very different. Disney (and most other companies) are still picking up the pieces.

Not to say you'd have a 'bad' time now. It's just not the best time to go to get the most for your money.

After the past almost 2 years, any version of Disney seems magical to me. I can't wait to go back, it will certainly be a bit different but so is everything these days!

I've not seen too much about what you have said, the magic is slowly returning, shows are slowly being added back as is character interaction. As time moves on it will only get better. I'm going in September so I'm hoping most things will be back to normal by then.

We are going 3 weeks on Sunday. Im aware that ‘things’ may be a bit different but honestly, I can’t wait to go. It’s just me and dh and we will be more than happy to go with the flow.
Sure, there are some things we won’t be doing this time round that we will miss, especially the Hoop Dee Doo, but I have made other plans that include a trip over to trails end for a meal and back on the boat for the fireworks, so still getting some of the vibe there we love so much.
We have also got one of the dining plans for the Candlelight Processional which I am really looking forward to.
And yes, we didn’t get some of the ADR’s we had wanted, but we got others so as my dh says, we will enjoy what we did and not worry about what we didn’t.
We are mostly staying offsite with 3 nights at the contemporary so we get a mix of both but we only do Disney and not any of the other parks. Disney, golf, shopping and eating lol.

Im sure it’s like here at the moment with staffing issues and companies and people having to make changes. ( I don’t expect to see the parks dirty tbh) I’m not actually sure if it will ever be the same again but in 3 weeks I really rather be there than here.

We are in Disneyland Paris right now and some of our friends are in WDW. All having an amazing time!

Things are not perfect - but they never were. Just go determined to enjoy every second!

I think you can very much affect how magical things are or not. If you don't think it's for you right now then probably best to save your money

The actual Disney magic ended years ago - when they decided money was the most important thing.

They've been struggling for staff for ages but imagine how much loyalty you would have to a company that made 75000 CM redundant (over the 2 parks) & now find themselves struggling to get anyone back ! Look it's never going to be what it used to be, they've been cutting corners for years, it's probably just more noticeable now has the "corners" have gotten bigger!
IMO the only guests Disney are really interested in are those with $$$$$$$$ but they will soon realise that if you have that sort of money you have plenty of options on where you spend that $$$$$$$
At the moment we are still fans but we have started to have discussions about "selling up"
