Mobile Driving and headlights

I'm driving to DLP on Thursday morning and I wondered if someone had some guidance regarding the headlight converters? I may be overthinking this but that's anxiety for you!

We are leaving at 4am, so will need the standard headlights to get us to Folkestone and the Eurotunnel. By the time we get to Calais, it should be about 7:30am local time and light enough to do without, however I believe French law states you have to have headlights on if it rains?

So when is the best time to put the converters on? There won't be enough room on the train to apply them.

Current forecast shows it should be pleasant enough, so should I wait until we get to a service station and just stick them on then?

Thanks for help in advance!

I haven't been for a while so maybe check online if you can but there was a garage just as you exit the tunnel area. I used to pull in there and do mine.

I saw this garage mentioned on a YouTube video but apparently it's difficult to get back to the correct road once you're at this garage?

I'll check it out on Google maps, thank you 😊

Might have changed it's been five years, but I don't remember having that issue. Sorry I can't be more positive

I always do mine on the train. Whilst there’s not loads of room there has always been enough room to get to the headlights and apply the converters.

As an earlier poster mentioned - the garage is not easy to get back to the motorway afterwards.

The other option is to fit them in the car park at Folkestone just before boarding the train.

Have you double checked you need them. DH bought converters for our car and then found out that the car has headlamps that don’t need converting.

I did check my car's manual this morning and it doesn't seem like the headlights adjust, and will need converters. Might have a play with the settings just in case!

Think DH googled it when he was sat on the ferry after he’d bought and opened the flipping things and found out our car apparently didn’t need them!
