Booking 1 night at Disney mid holiday and FP

Funds are limited for next year and we are staying in a budget hotel on the 192. I am toying with the idea of booking 1 night, mid holiday, in a Disney value resort to try and get FP at 60 days for Galaxys Edge (I know I might be being optimistic).

Can someone please explain how it would work. We would need to use our 14 day tickets from day 1 of the holiday, and would therefore only be eligible for the 30 day window for days 1 to 7, but if we booked one of the All Stars for day 8 would we get the 60 day window and still be able to book from 30 days for day 1-7, and then again for days 10-14?

Hoping that makes sense, I am currently confusing myself

Yes, you can only book check in and check out day at 60 days, the rest of the FPs will be at 30 days each day.

Thanks, I think I just over-complicated it and confused myself!

Just to confirm, I can book days 8 & 9 at 60 days, and then days 1 to 7 and 10 to 14 at 30 days? TIA

Yes, but the non-Disney stays are bookable each day, ie day 1 - 30days before, day 2 - 29days before etc (if that makes sense) before you go - so a rolling process of booking daily.

It was a bit confusing for us though. We booked 1 night at All Star Movies for our trip last year, and the night was booked for only a couple of days into the holiday. On that day 60 days before, all our days opened up and let us book FP's for our full 2 week trip even though we only booked a 1 night stay! We just assumed this was the normal process, but on our last trip we booked a night at POP and 60 days before that date, only the POP dates opened up for FP's, and the rest we had to do on a rolling 30 days.

We rang Disney World and told them it was different from last time and asked why, and they said that the normal process is that you can only book 60 days out for the dates that you are staying onsite, and the dates you are offsite will open up 30 days in advance from each date. However, sometimes there can be glitches in the system and that's why on our other trip it allowed us to book our full trip at 60 days out even though we only had 1 night onsite.

Not sure if these glitches still exist though as this was a couple of years ago now and they may have fixed them!

Thanks for confirming... might keep checking to see if the 'glitch' re-appears

We have 2 lots of magic bands from previous trips, and want to try and take advantage of EMH for our 2 onsite days, which is why we are aiming for a mid-trip stay

Just an FYI

Millennium Falcon Smugglers Run does not have Fastpass, it has standby and single rider only. While the Fastpass line is there, it is only used for DAS and VIP guests.

Disney have repeatedly stated that Rise of Resistance when it opens will not have Fastpass either.

As of this stage, Disney have not announced when, if ever Millennium Falcon Smugglers Run and / or Rise of Resistance will have Fastpass.
