Much prefer the seating configuration on the a330 although it would be great if the new a350s were to be placed at Manchester in 2020!

Virgin have had a November schedule since 2016 and have run 747s every year until this year.

I'm surprised at the change of plane as the flights we have been on in Nov 16, 17 and 18 have all been full (both legs).

The 747 will be getting wound down over the next 2 years as the A350 come into operation

Would imagine over that time they'll start to farm out the A330's to airports outside London to do the Orlando routes.

The final 747 from Virgin is due to be retired in 2021, which could be one of the Alitalia 5 as their leases are up in 2021 though these could come out of operation before hand to be debranded etc before they get returned which will probably take a few months each.

Mmm, interesting. Shows the demand is there.

It could be a trial to see if there's enough demand for a more regular, almost year round, service using A330's rather than 747

After flying back from MCO to LHR in a Virgin A330 last year never ever again the seats were like concrete, spoke to the crew in the kitchen and was told they get constant complaints about the seats. The crew also hate the A330 as there is no crew sleeping at all, ordered by Virgin could not get hold of the Dreamliner due to the initial delays of these.
