Our Tampa flights were cancelled yesterday. I thought I would wait a few days to call them seeing as they are so busy at the moment. However, I got an email a few minutes ago saying:
“We are currently receiving exceptionally high call volumes and are very sorry if you have been unable to reach us by phone to discuss your options.

To prevent the need for you to contact us, we will be cancelling your British Airways Holidays itinerary and processing a full refund. This will be returned to your original payment card within the next 7 - 10 days but may take a few more days to show on your statement. If your original payment card has expired, or the account is closed, the refund will still be processed as normal in line with banking requirements. You should contact your card provider if you have any queries about how the refund will reach you“

Fair play to BA, far better experience than the utter shambles of Virgin Atlantic. I certainly won’t forget.

Both showing as live.
I don't think they will cancel until last minute because the clock would start ticking on refunds
No notification that flight cancelled but as they were reward flights I could get refund on outbound as in the text they said it was cancelled.
Inbound to LHR subject to $50 each cancellation fee.
This was via text and I was asked if wanted to proceed. I replied yes so hopefully I will get confirmation soon, air miles returned and a place in the long list for a refund

update to my situation :

after my call to expedia this morning, I received a confirmation email from them

the email states that request for a full refund of my return flights ( insert total booking amount ) has been submitted to the airline (Swiss, as expedia ticketed through them)

refund process may take between 2 and 12 weeks

that's a big long, and a bit different from the 8 weeks quoted for LH flights (even though Swiss and LH are the same "company")

Waiting for my Virgin Atlantic flights to be cancelled. 19th August Heathrow to Miami, although just logged onto the app and they’ve now moved the flights to the 20th Aug instead! If I did actually want to go I’d be fuming.

Still waiting for 13th Aug BA flydrive to be cancelled MAN-DUB-ORL (Aer Lingus flights). They way things stand, think would be happy if it is cancelled.

BA info contradicts itself. Info on bookings says that balance is due 9/7 but their website says they have delayed balance due to 3 weeks. Do I need to contact them to clarify this?

Last thing I want to do is lose money I have paid, as I only owe them £500

Our August 22nd VA flight LHR to MCO got cancelled over the weekend.

Sad but it was obvious for a while it would get chopped.

I think these will still go. I checked the daily flights from Heathrow and it looks like they are flying. I am booked on the 19th but don’t want to go.

Are you United as well? I agree I think the flights will still go as they are via New York. We have to wait to out and our insurance will kick in and cover us cancelling but we have to wait until 48 hours before 🙈 If FCO advice changes and gives the green light for the US between now and then we have to go or lose our money...

Yes we are - originally via Houston but they changed via nyc. Our insurance will pay if fco advise is in place 31 days before we fly. I spoke to united who said we could have a credit voucher valid for 3 years however we booked via travel republic who are saying non refundable and no changes. We are will to lose the money but obviously don’t want to!
