Opting out of junk mail

I've put a sign on the letterbox and that's had no effect
Post Office has an online for that you have to PRINT and post to the and it takes 6 weeks to action (I don't have a printer)
Any ideas how I can stop the postman dropping stuff through my door that just goes straight into the recycling bin? It drives me crazy

Is it addressed to you or just flyer/opportunist stuff?

If it is addressed to you from previous companies you have dealt with you will have to get in touch with them. If you have a redirection on at the moment then when that stops hopefully the person who bought your house will just put it in the bin or write not known and it won't bother you anymore!

If it is just c***, then just dump it in recycling, nothing you can do as posties are given bundles and just have to deliver it!

I once asked our postie not to post the leaflets/magazines etc... as they only end up in the bin. He said delivering this stuff helps to pay his wages (I presume they get paid for each thing they post from these company’s) He’s a lovely guy so he still does but it is a waste. On the plus side I got a free pair of £5 bamboo socks last week.

It's just this stuff. Maybe if I put the recyling bin by the front door I can ask the postie to just post it there?

As our postie gets paid for the leaflets he delivers I can live with the very slight inconvenience.
I'd much rather be indoors when the weather outside is horrible whereas he doesn't have the option plus this year he has been around most days.

I just wish companies would do a bit more due diligence before sending mass mailings. I keep getting ads through for loft conversions, and while I'd love to expand our living area upstairs, I think the bloke in the flat above me might complain! Where's the point in sending stuff like that to high rise blocks?

Work Colleague got so fed up with being phoned by a conservatory company he eventually invited him round for a quote. To his 3rd floor flat (he had tried to tell them he was in a flat at the start of daily calls.
