Transporting a golf club

Hi folks
I'm thinking of buying a single golf club while in Orlando, can you take a club on board the plane as I don't fancy putting it in the hold.

I bought a driver a few years ago and had to take it to the outsize baggage to check it in. No big deal.

Did you have to put the driver in the hold?

My husband bought a couple of single clubs & asked the store to pack them for airline transit then we checked them on via oversize baggage .

Similar to me then. We got the store to pack the box with bubble wrap.

Unfortunately nothing will protect it from it being "snapped" by mishandling. But you just take your chances.

I bought a putter home from Phoenix, it was checked in, without any undue effect.

Hi! My husband bought a driver a few years ago, had to pay extra to get it home as classed as "extra", but wasn't expensive! He bought it at Edwin Watts on Idrive, they packaged it up so it was suitable to go in the hold! 😊

Hi with the exchange rate I would check if it is worth the hassle , over the last couple of years there hasn't been that many new clubs that are cheaper.

It may depend on what 'class' you travel. eg last year we were in Virgin Upper on the Heathrow to Miami flight and there was a gentleman in upper with us who had on board a rather large curtain rail, I was a little intrigued as to why you take a curtain rail on holiday with you, but I was assuming he had property over there

A curtain rail most certainly seems no different to a golf club?
