Can I take boxes of Lego through customs to open on the plane?

Odd question I know, and I'd guess I can as it wont contain anything on the banned list, just wanted to make sure before we went.

Oh and whilst I think about it, what about bags of sweets?

That was my first thought too. My dgs loves lego, but theres always one or two bits dropped, that are always tiny and integrally vital to the thing holding together. I wouldn't want him to be scrabbling about under seats looking, I I couldn't, even if I wanted to.

It will only be the smaller £8 sets, not to many bits to go missing.

When I did this I brought the top of one of those ikea box things, a fabric one but could easy bring a shoe box lid or something similar. Worked a treat. Wish mine were still small enough for this.

We take Lego on the plane every trip. Never had any issues. We generally take the bigger £15 ish sets now as my son is a bit older and completes the smaller ones easily and quickly which defeats the object.

We have been the family scrabbling under the seats for lost pieces!
