Disney's policy and justification seems clear.

So very sad but I understand Disney’s position. Not sure I would if it was my little boy though.

Understand why the family are so upset, if the council had no objection then they should just have a spiderman "type" engraving put on for their little one.

I get its all a business to Disney but sometimes compassion comes first, if it was my child I think I'd be heartbroken at what seems harsh by Disney, its really a focal point for a family to remember their little boy who was a big fan of the franchise with sounds of it and they probably made money from merchandise bought for him. I can also see how copyrighted stuff could appear everywhere if Disney didn't protect it but sometimes things do come across as insensitive which is how I feel about this story after reading it. Rip little one ❤️

A hugely emotive issue but I think the council by the look of it have handled it well. I also agree with the stance taken by Disney.
We all have our own views but to me a cemetery is a place for quiet reflection and remembrance. I'm not sure if a comic book character fits with that. Thats just me though.

Call me hard-faced but in general I don't like the way some people "personalise" their loved ones' graves and headstones by adding lots of ornaments, toys, windmills etc. I find it mawkish and some of them look such a mess, not fair for visitors to the surrounding graves.
I understand that we all grieve differently but personally if I needed a shrine to remind me, I would keep it somewhere private - home or garden ? Sorry if I've offended anyone, it's the last thing I'd want to do. xx |

A quick Google shows that most people obviously don't ask Disney, so credit to this family for doing so and not just going ahead. Although maybe they'll feel now they should have done just that.

I very much suspect the Monumental Masons would have balked at carrying out the request as they know the form.
