To heat the pool in August or not?

As the title suggests...

We've rented villas for the last 8 years or so and never paid for pool heat... we've regretted this in April and October as the kids would moan about the pool being cold in the morning/evening which is when they tend to use it the most.

It's not something I would usually give a second thought to but the villa we are looking at for next year has quoted us with pool heat and I'm wondering if I should just leave it included or take it off and save a few £'s.

The guests who were in the villa just be for us in July had it heated and it was too warm for us for the first day. We never have pool heat (June, July) and as we’re from Ireland I guess we’re used to cooler temperatures! Our villa owners even offered free pool heat, but we said no thanks.

Each to their own on this one. I’ve had it twice in August as we always use it early morning and late evening, it’s great jumping into a warm pool at 7am.
The last time our pool also had a spa, and we could only have that heated if we paid for the pool heat.

I would have said no... however the last couple of times we have paid for it and it makes for a lovely dip at any time of the day.

Necessary - No
Nice to have - Oh yes!

I agree, I hired a villa once in August and paid for pool and spa heating and have no regrets, not cold water shocks early in the morning

From around May onwards, we never ask for pool heating. We want the pool to be refreshing.
