Bubble refund ?

Hi guys we are due to pay our virgin holidays balance June 4th, I was hoping to change the booking to next year before this due date (we have already paid £7000 and didn’t want to pay the last £4000 until next year) .. but at the minute we have bubble seats booked. I know the 747 has been removed but my flight hasn’t changed yet on the virgin Atlantic site so I was wondering has anyone had luck getting bubble charges refunded ?

And what would you guys do ?
Bubble charge was for 9 people both ways so £630
Would you change booking to next year now (guessing they won’t refund bubble costs then) or hold out and see what happens ? I’m just cautious of not getting through to virgin holidays

Any advice would be great ... thanks

Not sure if it helps but BA have moved their balances until 3 weeks before so if Virgin have followed suit then you might have more time. You would think that if you have paid for the "Bubble" & it's no longer available then you would get it back but I think that you might need them to contact you first - My sisters lost their money on extra legroom seats when BA allowed them to cancel & get their deposit back

I sent a WhatsApp msg asking for a refund of my bubble seats (July flight). I got a reply saying to only contact if flying in the next 14 days.
I had also texted them and that reply said wait for a team member to contact me via email. Once I had the email I would have to contact them again.
Whatever happens, even if you change to next year, they should still refund the seats.

Edited at 06:59 PM.

We had bubble upgrade outbound and I have contacted Virgin Atlantic a few days ago direct on WhatsApp asking for a refund of the upgrade costs. The holiday was with Virgin Holidays but we paid direct to Virgin Atlantic for bubble upgrade.

WhatsApp number is:+44 344 874 7747
They say expect a reply in 11 days.

Hi we moved our September holiday to next September but had also booked bubble seats. I WhatsApp Virgin Atlantic and this was there reply

Hello Sharon I apologise for the delay, we are experiencing a high number of messages this evening, thank you for waiting, With all Seat purchases they are non refundable as per the terms and conditions of carriage. If the flight was cancelled we would offer a full refund, we would not be able to offer a refund for a voluntary cancellation i am sorry .
So no refund for me 😞

But you didn’t cancel the seats aren’t available?! I don’t see how they can say you aren’t entitled to a refund, or is it because you moved the holiday? This seems unfair as the seats wouldn’t be available either way?! That’s terrible!

I got a WhatsApp reply today saying they will process a refund for the bubble upgrade. They can't give a timeframe on the refund though.

I moved our flights from May to Sept for free but lost my bubble seats, sent Virgin a message on WhatsApp a few days after and they told me the upgrade would be refunded. Haven't seen any refund yet (moved on 20th April) so just waiting to see at the moment!

We had to reschedule one of our flights mid March due to the FCO, Virgin said they would not refund the bubble seat price, I still felt they should due to not being able to fly under FCO advice but as it was early days effectively they said their flight was running they wouldn't be refunding, anyway I was not impressed and said so and to give the operator his due he did, for no extra charge book us into exit row seats.

They should be refunding though if they have changed the plane, but at the moment I don't have any confidence in Virgin doing the right thing.
