After being in corporate world for 28 years I confess I know and use a lot of corporate speak, I don’t do it consciously, it has just become my regular vocabulary. But getting to the point, that is a new one on me. Very odd.

Tom, I remember sitting in a meeting with a multidisciplinary team, when the chair said. “ we are flying by the seat of our pants” and later “ let’s deep dive”. Corporate speak is probably the worst
"Ensure we are singing from the same hymn sheet" after every bloody suggestion.

Probably my best was when the very top Boss was trying to load a big project on to me even though I was drowning in work. It was in a board meeting of maybe 30 people.

I told him I physically couldn't take on more projects without dumping some existing ones.

He replied that he was sure I had capacity.

My response that I couldn't was met with a death stare. So I followed it up with the fact that it was not possible, the same as I couldn't fart the whole of the Nokia ringtone.

That was met with 30 people laughing and him scowling at me!
Your so funny 👍

I think it's the always saying that's the problem.

Helps the time pass... “withered on the vine” , “grasp the nettle”, and “gain traction” are three more that spring to mind...

I work in IT but I hear about holistic approaches all the time. I just ignore it. Other current favourites are what is the ask and call it out as in call it out in the document. Some have gone away too. I never hear about low hanging fruit anymore which I'm glad to say.

Monday was always the worst, when the bosses had time to think over the weekend, and would come in with new ideas. Reading all these replies, brings it all back, not in a good way, so glad I am retired, still don’t know what woke means, but I won’t let it keep me awake at night!
