Strategies for planning FP and ADRS for those hot summer days (and nights)?
Looking for your tips on how to make the best of our days in the heat please. We have teenagers late evenings are not an issue, and early mornings are do-able too. We are staying on-site with DDP.
I’m thinking: Hit the parks early QS or TS lunches during the heat of the early afternoon Pool or water parks Back to the parks or Disney Springs for the evening, and dinner. Good plan? |

Super plan! We tend to do early mornings week 1 as we wake early, then do later starts/pool time then evenings in the parks in week 2. This works well for us, no struggling to do both ends of the day, and teeneagers get a few lie-ins later in the hols!

Thank you!
We’ll have been in the USA a week or two before hitting Orlando so no jet lag - which may scupper the early mornings! |

Yes all good ideas, we go for most of July and August every year so are used to it. The other thing I do is ban complaining about the heat, it's a family joke now but if you walk around saying "I'm too hot" it just makes it worse. When we tour the parks we try to mix inside and outside so we are not exposed too much. The first few years that we started going in the summer we did not drink enough, we were drinking more but not enough. Our middle daughter will get a headache fast like this, we now talk about drinking plenty before the holiday and they we are right on it. When they have a drink we say drink more, we take plenty out with us each day.
We really like a TS meal in the summer, you can sit for longer and they can be cooler as there are generally less people in them compared to QS. Also you are being waited on and eating a little less fried food (hopefully! ). Jonathan

Good tip, thanks.
We’ll be taking advantage of the free iced water available from the QS counters. Our last visit was in February, so we tended to have QS for lunch so as not to eat into park time, with TS in the evenings as the parks closed earlier. But thinking swapping this around is the way to go |

Because of FP we now do a mixture of early mornings and later days in the parks. Often there are evening shows, fireworks and restaurants we want to have dinner in.
