I have just emailed Universal asking the question of how much to upgrade 3 park passes to AP.

You will only get a quote on the day, and that quote will be valid until you walk out the door.

And that will probably be the answer you'll get from universal if you get an answer at all.

TBH "ballpark" figure isn't going to be very accurate as it obviously depends on the exchange rate on the day, if they are like Disney then it's what you paid in pounds divided by the exchange rate plus the difference.

Also depends on which annual pass you want - there are several.

Basic rule is the difference between what you paid and the current annual pass price - you can find these prices on their website.

Wednesday this week. We paid less than $200 each when we renewed them in Oct, but on our receipt we got a 344.99 credit (the current price for an annual power pass. not renewal) pp for the old power pass then charged 384.99 for the Preferred (Cost of a Preferred , also not renewal price). So a $40 upgrade fee plus tax per pass to preferred. This allowed us access immediately, as the power was from Sunday only. Even if it had been based on current renewal prices it would have be $40.
So in our case a good result, as for $40 Wed -Sat it was a no-brainer, if it had been difference on what we had paid, we would not have bothered.

Did notice today quite a queue at the upgrade centre (I assume people are starting to upgrade their 2 park annual for a 3 park for $99) , so it might be worth going to one of the hotels where they can also upgrade them. Did mine at Cabana Bay.

Hi we are just back a couple of weeks now , there were five of us, I upgraded my two park explorer ticket on the first day to the preferred annual pass to get the free parking , I was charged $105 including tax to do this, on the last day of the second week the other four upgraded theirs to a season annual pass for an amazing $5 each! A no brainer really as we were there for three weeks , even if hey don't go back again in the year it was still worth it as they all went another couple of days in the last week, just a heads up though both times it was someone different who attended to us and initially both said you can't upgrade an explorer ticket and I said yes you can I know people who have done it , they then spent a few minutes on the system and were able to do it so don't accept it if they say it can't be done !ha!ha! This was at guest services in citywalk next to the restrooms, and you can now get free parking after 6pm so you can go and upgrade without having to pay parking on your first visit xxx
