Not for the US no. Elsewhere a different matter as we know.

I do make sure though I have the stuff in the original boxes. Although saying that I have sometimes had 2 BP tablets in their foil strips slung in the zip part of my hand luggage if they have been left over from the day before.

Headache tablets up to prescribed controlled drugs.

I dont even use the boxes as they are too bulky. I just put all the foil strips in a plastic ziplock bag. No one has ever questioned this even when getting a proper manual search.

I've taken steroids and codeine and just take them in the original boxes so my name is on there.

My 11 year old is type 1 diabetic, using an insulin pump and CGM so we need to take a lot of supplies including insulin which has to be kept at a stable temp (we use Frio pouches) and lots of sharps (cannulas, needles, lancets etc). This usually fills a hand luggage case. We always have a letter from his hospital team for the sharps and to state none of it can go in the hold (life threatening if case is lost and too cold for insulin) however we've never been asked for the letter. We also take a spare insulin pump with a letter from the manufacturers and that has been looked at, as it's in a sealed case that can't be x-rayed.

Interesting info. here. fda.gov/ForConsumers/Con...ce=govdelivery

Says we should be carrying prescriptions/dr's note and keep drugs in original packaging.
I think I might start doing this just to be safe and I do neither.
Every day is a school day.

I have eye drops for glaucoma and put them in the plastic bags but was told I didn't need to do that as they were prescription (in original box).

I've always taken mine in their original packaging and had a copy of the prescription. For DD's controlled medication I also had the pharmacist sign her prescription from the hospital.
Never been checked but always feel better safe than sorry- never like the look of the cheery folks in security.

Oh and probably 2 boxes of Paracetamol.

Antibiotic ear spray for my Wife and her prescribed pain killers.

All in my handluggage and they never query it because they never see it. Nobody checks your luggage unless you go to secondary screening which sometimes we do if we have food items.

Cant be fussing with prescriptions and letters etc as they aren't needed.
Mr Tom Morrow

I’ve been thinking the same as I will need to take narproxen with me for a bad back. I just get confused as how can you take a prescription as the chemists take that off you? So do you just take another one or ask GP for 2?
