ESTA - advice for child's application
Hi
I have a few ESTA questions, I travel on my maiden name so what name do I put for myself on my daughters ESTA my married name or maiden? Also my daughter has not see her birth father since she was 11 months old, he just has never bothered with her, she is 9 now! so who do I put on her ESTA as the father? Does it have to be her birth father who is on her birth certificate or her Dad who has fathered her since 8 months old and who is with us on our holiday? Thanks for your help |

I left my daughters father off, she’s four now and hasn’t ever met him (the last he saw of her was when she was 6 weeks old).

Put the name that is on her passport, as the ? Bubble next to name advises you to do.
For the fathers name Hover over the “?” Bubble next to the word Parents and the pop up will tell you the options. Choose what suits best. Edited at 12:33 AM. |

Just make sure that the information on the ESTA application is identical to the passport information. It will make it much easier to get the application processed.

You shouldn't do this unless they are actually their parent or they have adopted them. As heartless as it stands in law and immigration your partner is a "stranger" to your daughter and has absolutely no parental responsibility that an immigration officer would be concerned about.

I think you are incorrect as far as filling out ESTA. Step-parent would be the one that is used here. From the help button on the ESTA form beside Parents: “Enter the names of your parents. These are required to complete the application. If you do not know the name of one or both of your parents, enter UNKNOWN, for each parent. This field can include the names of your biological, adoptive, step-parent or guardian.” |
