I think the reason Disney class them as deluxes (they're actually in their own booking category as "deluxe villas" rather than "deluxe hotel") is because of the size of the accommodation. OKW has the largest square footage rooms on property (we've stayed at OKW twice). You could argue with SSR that its proximity to Disney Springs is as much of an incentive to some people as other resorts proximity to parks.

Whilst it's not quite as deluxe as say, the Y&B Club or Boardwalk, it's also a step above the likes of CBR or CSR. And also not forgetting when the free dining offer is on, it has the full DDP attached to those resorts.

We've spent a total of 4 weeks staying at OKW, so have opted for a change this year to the Beach Club. As a family of 5 that would have needed a 1 bed at OKW, the price difference between that and the BC was negligible so I guess I'll be able to properly weigh each version of deluxe up fairly by the end of this year!
Are you saying 5 of you will be in a studio for 2 weeks at Beach Club?

We will I know that set up would not work for some people but it's not a problem at all. When we've stayed at OKW previously, me DH and our kids always had the 2nd bedroom with the 2 beds, and we didn't really make use of any of the other space there so it'll be fine. We have the first 3 nights renting DVC points for a 1 bed at AKL and then 14 nights at the BC.

I would love to try the Beach Club/Yacht Club but my kids are growing up fast (10, 13 and 14 right now) so I think our days of squishing everyone into one room are now gone unfortunately We do love Old Key West though so it's not all bad!
