45 minute connection at LHR
Hi
We got revised airline times today for our trip in June. They have changed the connection at Heathrow to 45 mins , arriving BA (terminal 5 ?) to Virgin (terminal 3?). This seems way to short , what can we do ? |

That is too short, your airline should move one of your flights so that there is enough of a connection window.
You should call who ever you booked with and they should be able to sort you out. I would have thought you would need at least 90 mins to change terminals and i would personally rather have two hours. |

Even if you land on time you can't get from terminal 3 to terminal 5 in 45 minutes it is nigh on impossible
You might be able to do it between terminal 1-4 but terminal 5 is essentially another airport and has a different exit from the motorway - that is how far apart they are |

I'd be ringing whoever you booked with and ask for an alternative, it can take longer than that to get between the 2 terminals with traffic let along get through the airport, t5 is a much bigger terminal than t3 and right over the other side of the airport. I live close by & the traffic can be a pain in the bum at the best of time!

It's below Minimum Connection Time (MCT) which is 90 mins for a T5>T3 connection. The airline(s) will rebook you anyway, but it's not an instant process can take several days before it happens.
It's not a bad idea to look at what alternative connections you would prefer and call the airline or travel agent you booked with, so you have some influence over that process. |

This happened to me but mine was 85 minutes, which was 5 minutes below the minimum connection time of 90 mins. I looked myself at what alternative flights would be suitable then called BA who agreed to change to flights of my choice. This worked out a lot better for me in the end as I was originally on a 3 flight route and now on a 2 flight one.
