Retirement trip
I am retiring in August and would like a two week on site extravaganza to celebrate.
We are used to diy and VH breaks, but what I want this time seems trickier to arrange. I have a few queries.
Looking forward to this a lot! Any help welcomed. |

Have a look at the DVC board for renting points to get s studio or one bedroom unit at the Beach Club. You can add on the dining plan with this too.
Flights... do you have particular months in mind ? January is cheap but the weather isn't reliable. , September is good but the hurricane risk is higher, early May is nice but you want to avoid Memorial weekend as it's both UK and US holiday so gets very busy. |

We stay onsite 3 times per annum. Albeit this year we are doing 4 times.
So to the questions If not bound by school holidays, when is the cheapest time to fly? May and Sept We'd like an onsite studio - we've stayed at SSR and loved it but DH would like an Epcot resort - which would offer us a studio? Beach Club and Boardwalk do. Best to rent points from somewhere likes Dave's as he has huge trades so you are more likely to get what you want. If so, where do I book them, the UK Disney site doesn't seem to offer them? They do but for 2018 they are pretty much sold out. Ideally we might like dining plan - any ideas? If you do a DVC booking you can add on the DDP but it's payable in $ and is poor value ref bang for your buck. Much better to pay cash like we do. Plus it's far too much food in my view. Now the best option is to delay until 2019 as that way you can pick and choose your Resort, get the free DDP but of course you will be in 'Hotel' accomodation more so than DVC Studios albeit at some Resorts they cross pollinate. Hope this helps.
