Mobile Start day on Disney tickets

Hi all,

I’ll be getting 21 day Disney world tickets along with a one night at a WDW resort hotel.

Is it possible to start the Disney ticket on day of checkout rather than check in? This maximises my ticket days since I’d be arriving late on check in day for the hotel.

Thanks, that would work in that case.

When you buy tickets they ask you about the first day. Is that information not used as the start date for the tickets? And if not, why do they ask for the start date?

There are two reasons I can think of:

First, they want to make sure you're purchasing tickets for the correct year. If you're going in 2019 then you can only use a 2019 ticket, not a (cheaper) 2018 one.

Second, they use the date you enter to prioritise when to process your order. If you are going in 3 weeks time then they'll do your order before someone going in 3 months time. That way they can make sure you get your tickets in time.

But as Dizzny Momma says, your tickets don't actually start until you use them to enter a park.

Thanks Nimbus for the context. What do you mean by processing the order? Do you not get like an eticket once you make the purchase?

Where are you buying the ticket from?

If it's a third party ticket seller then they'll have to process the order - by which I mean look at your order to ensure it's valid, get the correct tickets (this may include purchasing them from Disney first), send them to the correct address (by email or post), ensure the payment goes through correctly, keep a record of the transaction (for records, tax purposes, etc) and so on. Some ticket sellers send out real tickets, but even if they send out e-tickets they'll still have an order in which to process these things.

If it's from Disney UK themselves then, yes, I can understand why you'd ask your original question. They send out e-tickets so I would expect the process to be automated. Other than choosing the year (2018 or 2019) I have no idea why they ask for the day and month on their website when buying tickets only.

Obviously if you are booking a hotel room and tickets together as a package then they need to know the dates when you want to book the room.
