ESTA woes
Hi
Not going till 2020 but really worried about all these problems going on with ESTAS and being refused entry because of a criminal past. I last went Florida in 2015 and l managed to secure a ESTA my crime was committed in 2007 but I only received a fine no prison or anything. Should I be needing to worrying about going to Florida in 2020 down the ESTA route? |

It depends on the crime.
Can you answer these questions truthfully. |

No and No
I had a run in with someone who attacked me and then he claimed I defrauded him of money even though he attacked me so don't get how! Yet I was found guilty and made to pay a fine |

Without wanting you to divulge the charge. What the charge was will depend on what the answer is whether you feel there was an injustice or not.
Ultimately, only you know |

The problem you have is that in the eyes o& the court you were guilty of (I assume) fraud whether you did it or not is irrelevant you have a conviction for it. Under point 5 if you answer honestly ( and I am not suggesting you would£ not ) you have to say yes.
I would suggest you apply for ESTA as soon as you can and certainly before you book anything at least if you do have a problem you can apply for full Visa |

Given you have been found guilty of fraud (whether you did it or not is immaterial) you should answer yes under item 5 posted in the list above, this will mean you will not get an Esta though.

I read that as committing fraud to enter the United States.

Please stop worrying, there is probably hardly a person on here who hasn't had some sort of past either with themselves or their fellow travelers (partners, family etc)...They are not going to know about your silly little past crime, they do not have access!..The recent case had a lot more to it im sure!..Carry on as normal and stop worrying!
