i would apply for the esta - with putting the overstay as they may get an esta.
When we applied for visa - due to having been denied visa's 10 years ago we didnt bother applying for the estas and went straight for the visas - at the embassy we were told we would have been granted them and when our 10 year visas run out just to go back to EsTA. One the plus sie my 2 teenagers have 10 year visas so if they want to go travelling around america they can stay longer than the 90 days. |

They told him he wouldn’t be given a visa if he applied. He said it would be a year for each week overstay before he could even apply for a visa. TBH I don’t think he wants to return - too many bad memories.

Spot on. Prior to my most recent visit this summer (2018) my previous visit was 2005. I can't see us going back in the next 10 years
Actually - scrap that last bit - OH has a habit of typing "cheap Florida flights" into Google and some of the results are very tempting !

Yeah we’ve just found some brilliant flights for May 2019. Now considering a “cheap” trip for the 50th with those flight prices! Even though this years trip wasn’t supposed to happen let alone another one!
