Tiered pricing, if/when it takes effect, really is most likely to affect only the short duration tickets sold predominantly to the U.S. market, where people typically come for much shorter stays. The aim of such a pricing structure is to encourage visitors to come at off peak times to spread out the visitor numbers. UK visitors make up such a small proportion of the overall total, that more complex structures to try and persuade a tiny number of people to change when they visit simply doesn't seem worthwhile. And as others have said, as 2017 UK tickets are already available, making changes now seems very unlikely too.

That aside, with regards to buying now or waiting, depending on the number of people in your group and the duration of your stay, it's highly likely that the free dining will more than mitigate any price rises that did take effect anyway. The rise in ticket prices really isn't likely to exceed the typical value of free dining packages.

Heard tierd tickets applies to SINGLE day tickets that you pay for at the gate. As many people opt for the 2-3 week park passes they will stay unaffected

Confirmation is out this mornng, the tiered pricing is indeed for single day tickets. It will now cost $125 for 1 day at MK at peak times.

The US multi day Magic Your Way tickets are going up but will not be impacted by tiered pricing.

As I suspected, no changes for UK tickets for now.

As far as I can see this has no effect on Ultimate tickets at this time.

As well as that link I posted to the Orlando Sentinel article that confirmed this yesterday, Disney have also released an official statement here:

No. It's $124 + tax for a 1 day peak ticket to MK. Which is $132 or about £95.

Almost £100 to visit MK for one day.

Are there any details yet about what dates are covered by which tier price? We go in April (after the Easter break) and were intending to buy a disney park ticket for our son and daughter-in-law to do a disney park while out with us. We were just intending to give them the money to buy the ticket on the day, which we did last year.

Have a look on the Disney US website :

disneyworld.disney.go/en_US/tickets/

It has already been updated to include these tiered tickets. Now you have to select the number of days and, if you choose a 1 day ticket, you then have to choose the date.

Most of April is considered "regular" time of year - i.e. a 1 day ticket to MK will cost $110 (+tax) and to the other parks will cost $102 (+tax).
