I’m really enjoying reading your report. Your holiday sounds idyllic and there are some lovely photos but today... spiders... alligators nope just nope!

You are very brave as there's no way I'd be in that canoe for 5 hours with spiders and the like. And the biting insects sound horrible, hope you're all OK. Fantastic day otherwise!

This sounds amazing - seeing all the local wildlife! Although were you not petrified at the thought of gators on the water beneath you 😱
Glad you didn’t have a bad head after the night before work all that paddling to do!

Nah! The 3 we saw were really small and we had been told they tend to avoid folk. They did bolt off as soon as we approached.

What an adventure - great day!
We tried Ovation last year , it was nice enough but we were a bit disappointed after all the great reviews on the Dibb. Really enjoying catching up with your days

in Wekiwe park are you not allowed a picnic? Do you have to purchase their food and drink? I don't mind as we are planning here first morning so will not of had a food shop yet.
Great pics first time I've seen anyone on here post pics of the park. Cannot wait to show my daughter |

There are signs saying no outside food or drinks and that coolers are only permitted for the canoeists and kayakers heading up the river. There were 2 lads on the door and when a group behind us came in with a cooler they checked they had wristbands on to show they had hired kayaks.
We did see a couple of families with coolers on the bank but they might have been out in the river earlier. So yes, I would say you do have to buy theirs. The drinks were reasonably priced so I imagine the food would be too.
