iPhone 4 just died on me

Not sure why it had charge on it ,now it won't charge up! is this a common fault with iPhones ?

Try holding the home button and the on switch for around 20 seconds. It may come up with a display to plug the phone into iTunes. If it does, you will be able to restore it to the last back up.

I had it happened to a ipod touch once, it just died, wouldn't do anything whether plugged into the mains or the laptop, just showed the apple symbol , and because it was a few years old it wasn't worth repairing.

No common by any means but worth doing a hard reset (home and lock bottom down together until apple logo comes up) and see how you go.

Worth remembering though these phones won't last for ever and the iOS is now using more power so battery life gets less, also the iPhone 4 is quite an old phone, in some cases almost 4 years old.

Mine did the same a couple of months ago-am back to my 3GS now. Gonna take it to the apple store next time I'm in Belfast, to get them to check it out. They do an out of warrenty repair, buts it's quite expensive. Actually considering taking it to florida, will make it there before Belfast and seeing if the apple store will do anything

I'm going through all my pictures now to transfer them over just in case it happens again and I can't get it to work
