I've been to one in Manchester many times. Food and service has never been great there in my opinion, more style over substance. The drinks are great although a night in there can be more expensive than drinking the world in Epcot so be careful 😆

Do you need to book a table for just cocktails? Ie drinks only?

Been to the Birmingham one for both food and drink, very nice, although not blown away?

We went to the Cardiff one for cocktails on a Friday early evening and it wasn't busy.
I had a pina colada (only one I like) and it was amazingly perfect. They were all around the £9 mark so very expensive. Mind you I'd had a 2 for 1 pina colada in the place we had our meal and it was definitely worth more than double of the one there.
The one thing I wasn't too impressed with is that my mate went to the bar to get himself a second one which was some fancy big flame one and they did that at the bar, rather than the rest of us seeing it. We seemed to miss the extravaganza of lots of them.

the one in nottingham is average at best. maybe worth visiting for a one-off spectacle, but way overpriced for what you get.

also, do you really need a tiny hipflask "gift" with your drink? just charge a couple of quid less for the drink!

if you're ever in nottingham and want a cocktail, MOJO a bit further away from market square do *much* better cocktails, and they are 2for1 every day before 10pm...

We’ve been to the alchemist in Manchester and the cocktails look spectacular but I personally didn’t think tasted the best. The food is average - having said that I think the atmosphere is fantastic for that reason we are repeat guests

We have just come back from the Alchemist in Oxford where we went to celebrate my daughters 20th - it was drinks only as I am taking her out for a meal on Monday.

It was an experience - but possibly more about the theater of the even rather than the quality of the drinks themselves.

It's not cheap - most of the cocktails are over £8 each.

Enjoyed the experience and tucked the box but not in a rush to go back.

I live in Oxford and have been there a couple of times (when it first opened) and agree with you about the drinks and prices.
Food is ok but it gets so busy in there service can be slow, like most of the restarants/bars in the Westgate for me if was a case of trying them for the experience but there are other places in Oxford that are more reasonably priced and have better cocktails and food.
