Equal Marriage Becoming Law in Florida

The ban on same sex marriage was ruled unconstitutional today. Marriage licences to be given from Tuesday. Might be a Disney wedding for Amy and I after all :-) |

Great news but I was under the impression it was already legal. I'm sure there was a Dibber who said they were invited to a friend's same sex wedding a few years ago in Miami.

I thought disney already did same sex marriages. My sister and her gf are looking at disney and haven't been told that they can't...

While that's awesome -- if you read carefully, it says it only currently applies to Monroe County in the Keys, not the whole state. Hopefully, the rest of the state will soon follow suit.

Disney up until now have done a same sex wedding blessing. They make it look legal but it actually has no legality. They advise that you sign the papers over here, then have the ceremony over there as your ceremony. We looked into this too but I couldn't bear the idea of of lying everyone out there for what was essentially a blessing. I know lots of couples do, but not for us :-)
I'm assuming that will change now :-) |
