Austria Short Break...Not skiing
We are hoping for a short break in Austria but have mobility problems.
Does anyone have any recommendations? Most websites or recommendations I've seen or heard of at the moment point towards lodges (with steps), ski trips or hilly areas. Would be grateful for any recommendations please.

We’ve only skied in Austria, I would say that you should try to look for areas that are not prodominantly ski towns as these do tend to be hilly and have a lot of steps.
We stayed in Zell am See this year and whilst we loved it I wouldn’t recommend to someone with mobility issues. It’s a beautiful country I’m sure you’ll find somewhere suitable to visit. |

Thanks. I have to agree, I've had quite a few 'recommendations' for where you stayed as everyone says it's beautiful but like you say it's not really recommended for someone with mobility issues.
It's a place we seem to have overlooked in the past. Wish we'd done it when we were more mobile but I'd still like to visit Austria. I've heard it's stunning.

We went on a summer two centre holiday to Austria a good few years ago. The first week was spent in Seefeld which is definitely not suitable for anyone with mobility problems but the second was spent in the equivalent of the Austrian Lake District at St Wolfgang which may be a possibility. It was so long ago I can't remember exactly what it was like but I do remember it being a very pretty area.
