Wow guys thank you so much for the replies

As I am not a regular user I think I shall probably keep my glasses on until just before we land (as one of you said it might give me something to do)

I'm still not too brilliant at putting them in (my right one especially) so I could end up in glasses the whole time

As I wear varifocals I can function without glasses - for instance in the water parks - I just can't read anything - but I will have my DD and my Mum (who has had lens replacement actually about 6 years ago at the age of 69 as she was fed up of a lifetime of glasses and her prescription was too high for laser, but that's another story) they can read anything for me

Thanks for the info

I have daily disposables and only wear them on special occasions (dinners) and when I'm going to theme parks!

Never ever thought about wearing them onto a plane as it's usually just about tolerable to wear them normally and I think that the dry air on the plane would quickly make them uncomfortable. Plus I usually sleep on planes so that wouldn't work either.

That being said - if they are daily disposables, you could always try wearing them onto the plane and make sure you have your glasses with you. Then if you find the contact lenses too uncomfortable, you can easily remove them and switch back to glasses?

I wear mine depending on the flight time - so going out, yes, on the way back no! I do take a small pot, saline solution and my glasses in my hand luggage though

I wear mine everyday. but they irritate me if I fall asleep with them in, and almost always end up taking them out after a few hours on a flight as they do dry out. tried the artificial tears, but just ended up washing the lenses out with them, so that was a fail !
