Email from Disney Reservations?

Hi all

Has anyone ever received an email from a room assignment department at the resort they are due to stay in?

I received an email from someone in "room assignments" at Caribbean Beach, and just wanted to check if this was the norm?

Thanks

It's definitely not the norm. I've certainly never received one. What does it say?

Just a thought - does it tell you your room number? My parents declined their magic bands when staying at BLT as they already had some and they got an email with their room number.

In all our years of staying onsite we have never had an E Mail

I wonder if Lisa above has hit the nail on the head? Sounds a good explanation to me.

Thanks for the replies, guys!

No, it didn't include a room number and this is the first time we'll have magic bands.

Here's the email:

Greetings,

We are excited that you are joining us at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort! This resort is home to six villages, all of which are inspired by the Caribbean Islands. In keeping with the theme of the tropical islands, there are no elevators at our resort and all rooms are either on the first or second floor. Included with this email is a map of the resort so that you can start to explore the islands before arrival. We are contacting you prior to your vacation to see if you have any questions or concerns regarding your resort reservation. If you have any questions and would like to contact us, please feel free to do so by replying to this email or calling us at 407-934-3480 (Option 1) between 9 am – 5:00 pm, Eastern Time.

See you real soon!

Lanie

Mmm. I wonder if its because there are no lifts to the upper floors and they are drawing this to your attention in case of a mobility issue, thus allowing a lower floor room request to be sent?
Just a thought.

I have gotten an email, also from Lanie at CBR. It was about a specific room request, we emailed back and forth for a bit. Seems legit.

Thanks to the three of you, I appreciate the input

We've exchanged a couple of emails now, I'll be delighted if we get the room location we requested!

Thanks again, guys

This is the sort of email the club level itinerary planning office (deluxe resorts) send to club level guests, very strange, even more so given rooms are allocated by computer in advance based on prior advised room requests. Curiouser and curiouser, although maybe Disney are trying a new system?
