Mobile Fairfx Target banned

Just a heads up to anyone who plans on shopping at Target and using a Fairfx card.

They have banned payments to the store due to security. DH found out yesterday after doing our weekly food shop!

He panicked and didn’t think to get cash out (didn’t cross my mind either as never had issues before)

Thankfully he had an AMEX so we were able to make payment.

Also he was told that a new rule (not sure how new) is no alcohol without passport. We have always used DL with no issues. Having spent a month here not that long ago really and always using our DLs there, this is new to us at least.

Hope this saves someone the embarrassment of having a card declined. Obviously can use card to get cash out and then shop there, but we prefer to make card payments and keep cash for gratuities.

Same! Only happened the once in a month and when I told the cashier I was rather pleased, she was quick to tell me it’s just that they have to. Ruined my bubble.

Seems a bit odd. Many Americans don't have passports does that mean they now have to go teetotal?

there is a difference between a Brit using a UK DL and an American using their US issued DL

Ah, so "no alcohol without passport" is just for overseas visitors.

I guess its typically American - can't go around using common sense, must see a passport even if you are obviously a pensioner.

That made I laff out loud.

My daughter used to get ID'd in Raglan Road when we nip in for that lovely tall Bailey's drink they do. They stopped asking when she was twenty-eight, she doesn't want to go in anymore, it's not as nice an experience, lol ...
