I just want to add when I have bought from ebay i buy from the Argos and Mazuma ebay store.

They both sell refurbished tablets/phone etc and you get a proper store warranty.

We also use CEX. Much better value if you take vouchers and use them to buy other stuff rather than selling for cash from them though, so it depends if you’re going to want to buy something else from them or have things to exchange. Recently exchanged an old iPad and phone for an Apple Watch.

Has your mum tried out an iPad? Not sure how tech savvy she is, but we thought our aunt would manage better with a tablet than her computer when she started struggling with it, but she really didn’t get on with the touch screen and hated it, and much prefered the computer.
She’s not tech savvy at all 🙈 but she has finally got to grips with her touch screen phone so hoping she would cope with an iPad ok as she’s a nightmare with her laptop 😂
Thank you for info

We bought dd a refurbished iPad mini direct from apple a few years ago. It was recommended on a tech website. You get the same warranty as a new product and they put in a new battery and case. We’ve had no problems and wouldn’t hesitate to do the same again

Everything we sell we ensure is reset to factory settings and fully charged and check it all before we even attempt to sell them.
You have to have ID to sell to CEX, we have an account which has all our details ie: address, phone number which is held by CEX only.
The items have no trace back whatsoever.
Everything is checked by them, serial numbers etc and they usually ask you to come back in an hour or so they check everything is legit before they will give you anything in return.

I bought a refurb iPad from Amazon, would never had known it wasn’t new apart from no cellophane on box. Came with a years warranty and am still using it over 3 years later. Will certainly go down that route again.
