Cumbrian lakes, fishing?

Hi there,

Anyone stayed and fished Cumbrian lakes? I know it’s out the norm when in holiday lol!

Bought a cheap road and a couple of lures from Walmart, just wondered if this was the best method for anyone who’s fished here before and also any lakes better as know there are a couple, we have one directly behind our villa

Please check if you need a FWC Fishing Licence to fish these lakes ( I think you will). The fine can be $1000 if you get caught without one. They are available from Walmart or Bass Pro Shop.

You can fish on any of the lakes, just need to throw them back in. The one closes to the gate has a bridge that people fish from. The biggest fish I have seen caught was on the lake in the centre surrounded by villas.

You do not need a Licence. We did own a villa on Cumbrian lakes.

Stayed in Kissimmee once & my Father in Law brought a telescopic rod & went fishing every day. Either before or after parks. You could catch fish almost every cast. But he did have trouble with an alligator so be careful. Got it all on youtube.

He was using sweetcorn while float fishing but bought various small lures to spin with which caught small bass. The sweetcorn caught mainly small sunfish.

Ha ha, that’s dangerous fishing. Sound local boys too. Norfolk or Suffolk?
