Any other half term flyers nervous about new storm?
We are due to fly out on Saturday for our first ever winter trip to Florida, we normally always go in August or September. After Ciara last weekend there seems to be another storm brewing for this weekend. Are their any other half term trippers looking anxiously at all the weather forecasts? I know we just have to wait and see what happens, but when you are only going for a week, a delay seems worse somehow. Does anyone know how many flights were cancelled last weekend?

Yes, we're flying out on Saturday as well. We've been planning this holiday for so long it's horrible having this worry just a few days before we go. Keeping everything crossed that all goes to plan.

Hope you both have a great trip...strange how it works ...we will be going in August/Sept and I am worried about storms at that end... I hope the weather sorts itself out for your flights x

It doesn’t matter how many flights were cancelled last time, as it will have no link to what may happen this weekend. Winds at airports may be at a different angle to the runways, cloud cover may change etcetc
Just think of the positives for your holiday, the weather will be what it is, you have no influence on it at all. |

Thanks PPM, I’m a total over thinker. I was just trying to manage my expectations, as if I know we likely won’t get to go on Saturday, I can begin to come to terms with it now. I just need to learn that some things are beyond my control.

We are also flying on Saturday on the 10am roughly flight, weather warning is not until after lunchtime Saturday and the winds are not as bad by the look of it. Positive thinking we will be fine!

We’re flying Friday, as we’re only going for a week I’m glad we’re getting out a little earlier.
Hope everyone gets off ok. |

We're flying Sunday (when there's just a Yellow warning for rain) but are driving to Gatwick on the Saturday (when there's the wind warning). Our original was to stop off on the way somewhere but I think we may just get to Gatwick as soon as possible and sit it out there.

Hi,
We fly on Saturday at 11ish from Gatwick - I have two very nervous fliers with me so I am hoping everything will be fine with not too much turbulence! xx |
