Meal on a parked plane anyone ?

Singapore Airlines sells out meals on parked plane bbc/news/business-54519322

I really enjoy flying especially sitting at the pointy end, I sort of saw the appeal of a flight to no where (which didn’t happen) and may have been tempted by that just to feed my addiction of dining and drinking in the sky but this one doesn’t do anything for me - plus, I guess you need to pass security etc - I can think of better places to dine and spend my hospitality budget with a simple cab ride to and from door of restaurant but hey it seems popular so what do I know ?

No thanks. £380pp - they’re having a laugh. I could go to my relatively local favourite, L’Enclume, three or four times for that.

I like to see the creativity, I struggle to see the appeal of eating on a plane though.

Haha! I am one those people that loves to book budget flights where you have to pay extra for meals, as it means less people eat near me as I literally can’t abide plane food or plane food smells - think that would be my idea of hell! Haha! 😂

Do we know if it's OK to buy a Boots meal deal on the way through the airport in case we don't like the options being served?

Asking for a friend.

I hate sitting on planes even in business class and I wouldn't go for a meal on a plane if it was free!

I'm actually in the right country to have booked this if I had wanted to! The prices actually started from around S$50 (probably £28 ish) for the economy class meals, then went up quite stratospherically if you went up the classes.

This sold out incredibly fast though, I was quite surprised. Last I heard they were planning on opening up more slots...

I’ve seen videos for the Singapore business class and would be very happy 😄

BA should have done this with their 747s. My 14 year old son is gutted he never made it on one despite our best efforts and having 2 return journeys booked but cancelled. He would jump at the chance to get on one for dinner!
