Virgin upper class

We are flying out in a fortnight from Man to Mco and lucky enough to be flying upper class and would love to hear dibber's recent experiences. I know the escape lounge has been recently upgraded but not quite the Virgin clubhouse.

There are some photos of MAN - MCO UC in my 2014 trippie below, including some from the lounge. I found the lounge to be OK but might give it a swerve in September as its getting some terrible reviews on Trip Adviser. I've flown three times in UC, once MAN - MCO and twice MCO - MAN all three times the service on the aircraft has been absolutely first class. The food is a million miles away from anything you get in the other two cabins.

We are flying UC to Mexico via Atlanta in July. Can't wait!
Would love to have the full experience of private check in, lounge etc from Heathrow but hey ho, can't have it all!

Great trip reports do you have a preference for any seats in the cabin? Close to the bar?

I've not flown from MAN, but the LGW config is the same. I'd personally want 6A&K. Even though I'm a (heavy) user of the bar, I'd never want to be in close proximity even in this smaller UC cabin.

Lots of people prefer 6a and k especially for ancouple but DW wants to be by my side. I think we have 7 and 8k reserved for our next trip.

We are going UP from Heathrow to Washington and back JFK to Heathrow this August.

We are staying at Heathrow the night before and despite having hotel transport to the airport in the morning, I am seriously considering booking a taxi to take us the two miles just so we can use the VIP entrance and service at Heathrow!

I love flying anyway, but to be able to do this UC is so exciting. I keep watching Youtube clips about the chair, the food, the lounge... even one about the PJs they give you on night flights and contents of the goodie bag.

You can get them on your daytime flight too if you ask.

Enjoy the UC wing. I've never done it as I have a nicotine problem.

Love flying UC. The bed is more comfortable in Club World and I prefer the freshness of the new Aer Lingus business cabin but I would still opt for Virgin UC every time for the overall experience. A shame you miss out on the Clubhouse like at LGW/LHR but it matters less when you are on the earlier flight out to MCO. Seats you can't go wrong as long as you generally avoid the ones near to the bar if possible.

I might be mistaken but even if you don't arrive at the VIP UC wing via car transport can't you go up the escalator from the terminal to use it?

Love Virgin Upper class been a while since we have done Manchester but but this time we are out LHR on a 787 and back on a jumbo into MAN and looking forward to it..we also bagged 6A/K on the way back which was good.

Friends flew in Sept from Man and as you say the lounge is what it is, its not a clubhouse but is an oasis of calm compared to the main terminal
