This is what I thought but OP says there receipt showed $0 and with pre paid just as you mention it should show there charge.

Usually they estimate a charge for the fuel, but it should show on your paperwork, pre paid I think, so give or take a few dollars

Sorry for not getting back sooner, 2 kids, jet lag and snapping back to reality is happening. Charge for pre paid fuel was $64. The $100 hold was put on the card when we collected along with the fuel. The $100 dropped off a few days later and the fuel payment was debited. Someone from Avis is meant to be contacting DH today whilst hes at work. We didn't opt in for any other extras as everything we needed was included with the BA package we made sure toll pass transponder was off as we pay cash for any we use and as it was didn't use any this holiday. I'll update you all once I know x

No, the hold was dropped 5 days after we picked up the car. This charge has happened since we returned x

So they originally took a charge for £164 which was £100 deposit and £64 pre paid fuel.
The £100 deposit has dropped off.
But on returning home you now show a second charge of £164 ?


I recently updated my credit card on my Avis preffered account and Avis did 4 identical test charges of £1.24 all 1 day after the other.
Dont no why they did that but they all dropped off.

If the second £164 charge is just a pending hold it well just drop off,

The original hold was in dollars so was and worked out at $64.63 for the fuel and $97.86 was the hold the $97.86 was what dropped off while the $64 was debited. Since returning a further £164 has been taken from the card. X
DH has sent me screen shots of the final receipt and it says total due 0.00. I'm trying to upload it but it doesn't want to work.

Been there done that! Twice Avis have taken money from my CC, to cut a very long story short, I got no where with Avis they just don't respond to emails so I contacted BA on both occasions and told them how disappointed I was and told them about Avis's lack of communication and as I had booked a fly drive package I asked them it investigate why Avis had taken this money and BA apologised and repaid me in full.

Not good, did you make your booking through BA ?
If you did I would advise you contact them and they will do all the chasing so you do not have to.
BA are very good at taking care of things like this and will not stop hounding Avis until you are satisfied.
