I have been given an allowance from work of £75 towards a computer chair . I am happy to add to it to get a decent one but looking on Amazon there are so many choices i got confused. Anyone got any recommendations please

Do you work full time from home? What type of desk are you sat at? Desk or kitchen table?

Make sure the chair is height adjustable. Arms are good, especially if the move up/down.

Chairs have weight limits and different sizes suit different sizes of people. For example men have longer backs (generally) so need a chair with a higher back.

Do you have any other back pain/discomfort? It's not always the chair that's at fault but keyboard, mouse or monitor too low.

if you are required to work from home then your employer should be providing the equipment at their cost. This will ensure that it meets the required standard.

They aren't required to work from home, the employer is allowing them to work from home as a response to COVID.

The fact they are offering something is more than they are **actually** obligated to do

To answer the question, I hav eone of these and they are really good

I have been working from home since March, full time 5 days a week. The business furloughed 90% of the business so this is why it has taken so long to do the DSE risk assessment. I have a desk with a gap for the chair and a foot rest. The chair I had was already years old and 6 months of constant use the padding has gone and the back is loose. I am petite ( 5ft) apart from the discomfort sitting on my bum for so long everything else is OK. They did send a Laptop riser, the foot rest and a new mouse mat with a wrist support at the start. so I feel they have looked after us

Same as me I am working from home because of covid but my employer provided me the equipment required to do so.
It's not for me to pay for office equipment
