Gatwick security strike

So i have just read that the security staff at Gatwick are planning a 48 hour strike from 6am on 10th August. We fly from there on the 11th, does anyone have any idea whether we should get there earlier or what the issues caused by the strike will be like?

Can i assume that Gatwick will bring in temps to cover while the strike is on?

Just another thing to start worrying about

LGW have apparently said they have this in hand and not to worry! We fly the morning of the 12th so potential after effects also

Were you getting there 3 hours beforehand? We definitely going to make sure we have at least 3 hours before departure to be on the safe side 👍

We fly the morning of the 12th too lgw-tpa and planning on doing twilight check in on the 11th. But will still be at the airport a good 3 hours before we fly xx

We fly on 10th so hopefully they have it sorted. Booked cab to get us there 2 hours before 😬

Yes being a worrier we will be there early and go for breakfast ?if we have time)

Gatwick replied to my tweet i guess no one will really know until Saturday... -

We're not anticipating any problems but advise that passengers keep in touch with their airlines for any updates.
