Another Flight question - What would you do?
Manchester - Orlando - Virgin Atlantic
Manchester - Dublin - Orlando - Aer Lingus or even would look at Liverpool - Dublin - Orlando (although can't get through ticket and would havre to booking Liv-Dub-Liv separately). We live 5 mins away from Liverpool airport. Anyway, we normally fly VA from Manchester and usually pay up as prefer the convenience... I like Virgin although last flight home was awful, after original flight was cancelled. We are flying British Airways / Aer Lingus in October to NYC and I am really enjoying the idea of the pre-clearance as again immigration hall at MCO was horrific last time. Very hot and spent well over an hour in there with a 22 month old. So I am tempted by the flights via Dublin, and at this moment in time it gives a GB£ 750 / 950 pound saving for the 3 of us. I have never flown Aer Lingus... so not sure how this compares with VA. Or wait and hope the VA flights come down (not good with this waiting lark).

I've heard alot of good things about Aer Lingus. And if it saves you that much money then i'd go for it.
More money to spend at Disney

Certainly... and we know we all need that with the way the ROE is going.
Need to find some reports on Aer Lingus flights so if anyone has any links that would be greatly appreciated. The only other thing which I have just realised again is they are Airbus planes... no issue but means it is 2-4-2 as opposed to the 3-4-3 layout on the VA 747. Would have to look if the rows at the back of the plane are free for the 3 seats together!

Not Aer Lingus, but we flew TC last year on the Airbus with 2-4-2 configuration, and going out we had 2+1 across the aisle which I liked, and myself and DH just kept swapping so we could take it in turns with DD (aged 3 then.) I also kept them (when offered a change,) because they were on row 14, and as you know MCO immigration can get crazy busy.
On the way back, the middle at the back goes to 3 seats, so we had the 3 together then. I guess it depends on how you want to sit as a family, and because you wouldn't have to worry about immigration at MCO, I'd probably consider comfort over how close to the front of the plane you are. |

Flown to the US twice with Aer Lingus and thought they were great
The savings you note make it worth it for me, and you clear immigration in Dublin... that would be my choice |

That’s good as I don’t like fabs.
Great on the way there but how is it on the way back. Thinking of that long flight then a stopover in Dublin before getting back to Manchester!
