Its always amazed me how something that is so easily proven by basic maths has been such a debate for so many years lol.
There has never been a deal that is better than what us Brits get. The "free" dining deal does give us a moderate to heavy discount on the whole package when comparing like for like. You have to remember the complex thinking that goes into this stuff. its about turnover, hotel occupancy, restaurant occupancy, secondary expenditure both in restaurants and resorts. Giving us subsidised dining as always been with a view of getting that money back in other areas and boosting turnover. They also plan on us not using all the credits - which a huge amount of people don't. Its why I have no doubt one day it will be back. The concept of "free" has always been a loaded one. Nothing in life is free but there is simply no denying we get a discounted experience if you opt for free dining vs the alternative of paying for the plan and taking whatever other deal is out there. Dx I wonder how many are like DS, they had 14 nights free QSDP & I paid to upgrade them (Ds & DGF), half way through the holiday I noticed that they were paying for snacks etc when I questioned this, they stated that they didn't want to "waste" credits on cheap things I do not joke when I say that at time of checkout they still had 6CS credits & 24 snack credits, myself & DW managed to use them up by buying salads etc to put in our fridge! But we were staying another 10 days after they left.

I think the snack credits are another reason why I loved it. It was nice not to think of the cost of ice creams and drinks etc on a daily basis.
