Whilst I get the principle I also have a value on my time and what I want to do with it and for me this is worthy far more than £30.
I would appeal if the fine was 50p!

If we let the little things slide then where does it all end?

Seriously. If you briefly pulled over into a bus lane to assist the emergency services you would then be happy to Pay a £30 fine for the privilege?

Certainly all about principle for me. I would find the time to appeal.

I agree in principle with this, but would still appeal. I don’t like injustice. If I’ve done something wrong i will pay up, but not for this.
Also, in future let the police drive into the bus lane. 😊

As a pc , we are taught to drive to the conditions , we deal with people who drive who suddenly stop, suddenly change position , panic , and so forth , on an emergency drive ( sirens lights ) we make “ best speed” doing so safely , if we need to go round you , alongside you , behind you , round the wrong way of traffic lights , etc etc we will .

Doesn’t help you I know , as I’m sure you were just trying to help as does everybody .but we will get round you , no need to get a fine on our behalf ( which I’m sure at the time you didn’t expect at the time anyway)

Not sure I’m helping am I lol

It’s not me, but the OP. But i take your points, plus you have better driving training than the average civilian.

Well we appealed online and received a letter this morning. They have cancelled the charge. Pleased we appealed and they agreed the charge was wrong.
