Cancellation Refund Supprise

May help others planning to cancel Disney booked holidays.

We originally booked in 2019 for a Aug 2020 holiday, which was then moved to Oct 2020 and then moved again to Aug 2021. We only paid one deposit back in 2019 which was moved between booking changes.

I finally got around to emailing to cancel our booking with Disney and expected to loose the deposit as it was originally a 2019 booking before the T&Cs changed. I was surprised to receive an email back asking me to contact them for my refund, also attached was an updated invoice showing a negative balance for refund.

Not much but may help anyone who has paid a large deposit on an older booking and is worried about loosing it. I know they have changed the T&Cs for newer bookings.

The have been providing full refunds including deposit since the start. I had my April 2020 trip (booked April 2019) fully refunded over a year ago.

That’s great! We had our Aug 2020 booking fully refunded, but it’s even better that they’re refunding 2021 holidays postponed from then (twice!)
