Amazon Firestick in Florida
I've seen that villas sometimes have a Roku tv stick - is this essentially the same as an Amazon Firestick. If so I might take it in the summer - has anyone done this successfully?
And if it does, will motel/hotel TVs have a USB? I'm assuming any TV in a villa would. thanks |

Hotels will be different to villas. Many have TVs which run on a system which blocks external use of USB and HDMI ports along with casting. Not always but many do, especially the big chains. There are often hacks to get around this though
Villas will most likely just be retail TV's so no problem at all, plug and go. |

Yes firestick will work in USA but you have to change your Amazon account to USA, amazon help gives you details on what you need to do.
With respect to motel/hotel/Villa having a USB depends how new the TV is some will some won't and even if the TV has a USB it may be used for the hotel cable TV so not available for you to use. No harm taking it, its tiny but don't rely on it. Personally I have always used a tablet and have a VPN on it so I can connect to UK services when I travel and want a home TV fix.

VPN is useful to be able to switch between US and UK content.

As above, surely when you switch to Amazon US, it disables the UK content- Expect that US is probably better anyway!, I know this happens for Europe (since Brexit)as DS can no longer watch UK content.

We take ours every year to Disney and plug it into there TVs with no issue. Or depending on the hotel TV, again works in Disney, we play the app on our phone and stream to the TV over the wireless.
