Being on the plane

How's everyone feeling about actually being on the plane once we are allowed to fly. Its been so long and obviously people have been social distancing etc and now we will all be crammed onto a plane possibly sitting in close contact with strangers. Is anyone nervous? Are there extra precautions you will now take before or during the flight for safety.

Probably slightly nervous but if most people on the plane are vaccinated and people test negative there isn't much to worry about. Will be wiping the table down before use though!

It will take me sometime yet to feel comfortable on a plane. Pre-Covid, I always took wipes to clean table and armrests - I can see me still doing this.

Not really , I’ve flown twice in the last year , once to Greece and once to Newcastle .
Everyone was masked and using sanitiser. It felt no more unsafe than a supermarket.

Will be winding the window down to get a constant stream of fresh air.

But seriously it showed on TV last night that the whole airspace within an aeroplane is changed every 2 mins and is as clean as an operating theatre

They didn't state if it was filtered and recirculated though. Also if the later is the case will it remove any harmful virus like covid.

Also use antiseptic wipes on the table seat armrest and screen to lessen the chance of transmission.

Starting to get a bit worried about having to wear a mask for a 9 hour flight

The only thing that worries me is hitting the call button to use the loo. How are cabin crew going to determine who was first.

Imagine what happens when the Captain makes the 20 minutes to landing announcement.

We took a long haul Emirates flight in December and there was no call button for the toilet. You got up whenever you wanted, they just didn’t allow queues.

I am sure it will feel strange to start with, but I am looking forward to a good holiday in Florida again and I have absolutely no problem at all wearing a mask on the plane. Not planning to go until 2022 though 😃

I am wondering on the food and mask wearing situation on a plane though. Do you get fed?
