We've only stayed overnight after landing at the Hilton Miami Airport South - Blue Lagoon.
We slept very well, it is a nice hotel with helpful staff.
They have a free shuttle from the airport to the hotel. In the morning we took the shuttle back to the airport to collect our car. The shuttle driver kindly took us straight to Alamo car hire, as the car rentals are off sight but connected by the MIA mover.

We've also had a day room before a late flight back at Hyatt House Miami Airport.
It is around the corner from a Publix and Marshalls (less than a 5 min walk).
We managed to buy quite a few bargains at the Marshalls, and lovely made to order subs in Publix.

If your staying a few nights in miami i recommend THE MARSEILLE on south beach , its on the beach short walk to lincoln road , and the best bit is every night they have happy hour for hotel guests ,free cocktails(small but no limit ) for just$1 tip to bar staff .

For just an airport hotel, The Sheraton is nice and very convenient. Free shuttle to the hotel which is opposite the car hire centre. We book the car for the following day and then just cross the road over the car centre. It’s quite a busy road, so you do have to take care, but we do it with all our luggage in tow. You could always send one person back on the shuttle to the airport and then get the MIA mover to the car centre and then they could collect you from the hotel. Obviously you could collect your car on arrival, but dh likes to be able to have a drink on the plane and it also saves one days car hire charge.

We stayed at the Pestana which was a lovely small hotel with pool and really good buffet breakfast last time we went.Have also stayed at the Savoy and had a huge room. Hotel was a bit dated (was 2015 so may have changed) but was right on the beach so perfect location. We loved South Beach and had two four night stays there picking the car up at the end. We used taxis to get to and from the airport and Uber to get around and would happily go back there again
