Are ESTAs still being authorised?
We are due to travel 30th July for 16 nights onsite with free DDP. So far only paid deposit (£875) with balance of over £12,000 due next week. We are in the same dilemma as a lot of people. We are booked with Ever After holidays whom I trust to refund us once it's cancelled ( as I expect it will be).
Still undecided whether to pay the balance or just forfeit the deposit. We haven't renewed our ESTAs yet and wouldn't consider paying a balance until they were done, but are they even authorising at the minute with the travel ban? Has anyone applied for one recently?

I can't help at all I'm afraid on paying balances. We book everything separately and were due to fly next Tuesday.
However I was involved in an exchange of posts about a week ago with someone who successfully applied for new ESTAs. The warning on the ESTA site is only about attempting to travel under the current rules. Mick

I don't know what new questions there are, if any, but according to Dibbers you have to start with sending an email to which they respond with a code to use to prove you're not a robot. Mick
