The day we are cold in the house is the day we give up.
Ours has been on as and when for over a Month now.

The last week or so it’s been on 10+ hours a day.

I agree GG, we're fortunate that cost isn't an issue. Our annual dual fuel is circa £900 a year, from experience we find keeping the fabric of the home warm vs no heat aids our monthly direct debit.

Many years ago a friend was concerned about her bills, I suggested she set the thermo to 'tick over' at 17 and turn up as needed, she was pleasantly surprised to notice a significant difference in home warmth and reduced bills.

I have to admit there was a day in August I had it on :-o

But generally it is "on" year round, but only kicks in at certain temperatures. At my parents house my dad won't have it up above 19 which for me is too cold so once I bought my own place (a LONG time ago) I was not prepared to be cold in my home. I do wear a sweatshirt, etc though to keep it as low as I can.

I understand this is not a choice for everyone and I wish we voted for better governance to address some of this (in all parties!)
