Northern people versus Southern people?

I don’t know much about northern people other than they have cold weather, cheap property prices, talk with a funny accent and can be a bit tight.

What perception of southern people do northern people have?

Can't drive in snow. Workaholic. Talk with a funny accent. Shopping/decorating/renovating appear to be a pastime rather than a need. Don't talk to strangers on the bus.

(But I married one and moved here anyhow)

Living in Scotland I always find it odd that the North of England appears to start anywhere just north of London. It’s like there is the south, a tiny middle and the vast majority counted as the North.

That’s assuming you are just talking about England.

North for me is anything past Winchester on the M3. That’s usually where the clouds and rain start.
