How to decorate a choc sponge, no icing or cream!
My son only eats plain sponge and I have to make him a plain sponge cake for his birthday soon. He’s going to be 25 so not a child even tho he behaves like a 2 year old. Any idea s how I can decorate it, I thought of making a 25 out of haribos, he likes haribos but doesn’t like icing! Otherwise he’s getting this which looks very unappealing!

Use melted chocolate to stick sweets on? You could even stick chocolate fingers around the outside and fill the top in with sweets using this method.

What about something like this!
You could use ribbon to secure the Kit Kat’s if you don’t want to use chocolate. |

I have topped a sponge cake with Maltesers and also Ferrero Rocher chocs. I used Nutella to secure them or you could use jam.
I'm sure it will taste yummy whatever you decide on. Sue

We did the Kit Kat one and filled it with ice cream, he likes Kit cake and ice cream the little b###er wouldn’t touch it! I might stick on some sweets with chocolate then he could pick them off. He’s got a nut allergy so can’t have Nutella, not sure if he’s still got it as he’s hasnt had a reaction in 15 years but best not give him nuts!

Done similar in the past to the Kitcat one with chocolate fingers. Filled the middle with smarties as per.
Bright ribbon to hold the fingers on. Dab of melted choc on before to hold them upright. |

Does he like fruit? Melt some chocolate then dip in raspberries/strawberries/blueberries and stick them on.
